Gold Logie Nominee Jessica Marais Cites Health Concerns As She Withdraws From Logie Awards

Get well soon, Jessica!

Jessica Marais -- actress and star of Love Child and Wrong Girl -- will no longer be attending this Sunday's TV Week Logie Awards, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Nominated for two awards -- the iconic Gold Logie for Australia's Most Popular Personality, as well as the Silver Logie for Best Actress -- Marais has released a statement via her management which cites health concerns as the reason for her withdrawal from the ceremony.

“It is with much disappointment that we advise Jessica Marais is unable to attend the TV Week Logie Awards due to her health," the statement begins.

It continues: “Jess is naturally disappointed, is grateful to TV Week and all the viewers who have nominated her for the Awards this year and wishes all the nominees and her friends a great celebration on Sunday night.”

Her management concludes the statement with a request for media to "support Jessica at this time by respecting her privacy.”

The 60th annual TV Week Logie Awards will take place on the Gold Coast this Sunday, July 1.
