Dolly Parton Is Getting Her Own Netflix Series Based On Her Songs

Episodes in the Stream.

There's always been a question as to why Dolly Parton hasn't had a guest spot on her 9 to 5 co-star's series Grace and Frankie.

Earlier this week during a panel for the show the stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin accidentally let it slip that, while they'd love to see Dolly on the show she might be a bit too busy with her own Netflix project.

Well now it's official, Dolly is making her way to Netflix!

Announcing the news on Tuesday, Dolly released a statement regarding the eight-episode anthology series. Each episode will be based on a different, classic Dolly song.

Of course, eight episodes makes sense considering that falls somewhere in the range of 9 to 5.

According to Netflix Dolly will serve as executive producer, co-star and singer/songwriter for the currently untitled series.

Dolly is currently working on the soundtrack to an upcoming film called Dumplin' which stars Jennifer Aniston and Aussie actor Danielle Macdonald, then she'll make the jump over to Netflix.
