Adele Confirms New Album Release Date As She Celebrates Friend's Wedding
Adele fans get ready, 'cos the singer has confirmed she's dropping a brand new album in September.
Attending her best friend's wedding over the weekend, Adele acted as both a performer and officiant for the occasion, where she took to the stage of The Mason’s Arms in Battersea, south-west London telling her audience to “expect my album in September”.
Last month, Adele’s manager Jonathan Dickins announced that the singer was gearing up to release new music this year, telling Music Week that the singer will finally release the follow up to her 2015 album 25, adding, “the sooner [it comes out] the better.”
In what was surely a treat for fellow wedding guests, as well as newlyweds Laura Dockrill, 33, and Maccabees guitarist Hugo White, also 33, Adele belted out her 2010 hit "Rollin' In The Deep" as well as Candi Staton’s "Young Hearts Run Free" before she was spotted dancing with friends to Spice Girls and Beyoncé.
Adele's forthcoming album will be her first in five years, following her 2015 album 25 which featured hits "Hello" and "When We Were Young", while her second record 21 remains the best-selling album of the 21st century.
And while her previous releases have been named after her age, she has previously suggested that the upcoming release would break the trend.
“I think this will be my last age one," she said during the release of 25. "I’m sure I’m wrong with this but I feel there’s been a massive change in me in the last couple of years.”
