Taylor Swift Reveals She's Releasing A Christmas Song
In what's come as an early surprise Christmas present for all the Swifties out there, Taylor Swift revealed on Friday in an Instagram video that she will be dropping a Christmas track sometime today.
In the video, Swift announces to her fans that she’s “just written a Christmas song", and that she doesn’t want to wait another year to release the tune.
“I don’t know what to do,” she said before consulting her three cats on whether or not to release the song.
Revealing that the song would be named "Christmas Tree Farm" -- a nod to her childhood growing up on a Christmas tree farm -- she captioned the video, "When in doubt, ask the itty bitty pretty kitty committee. When they shun you with silence, ambivalence, and judgmental brush offs... just put the song out anyway. NEW XMAS SONG AND VIDEO (made from home videos 👨👩👧👦) OUT TONIGHT"
Following the welcome surprise, fans went understandably wild across social media, with one Twitter user declaring, "@taylorswift13 is releasing a Christmas song tonight so the season is officially called Swiftmas."
It's just the latest in string of brand new Tay-Tay content, with her Netflix documentary 'Miss Americana' set to premiere at Sundance.
She also stars in the film adaptation of 'Cats', out December 26th, and penned several songs for the film alongside, including "Beautiful Ghosts".
