'I Don't Like Her, I Love Her': Swedish Pop Singer Tove Lo On Working With Kylie Minogue
Swedish pop singer-songwriter Tove Lo admitted the name of her new track with Kylie Minogue might be a little misleading.
But the catchy tune "Really Don't Like U" released last month doesn't reflect her feelings towards Australia's Impossible Princess in the slightest.
"I don't like her, I love her," she explained to 'The Project' panel of her long-time admiration and eventual collaboration with Kylie.
"It was kind of an unreal moment for me, I've been a fan of hers as long as I can remember," she said, recalling that Kylie first tweeted Tove after the release of her second album in 2016.
The "High All The Time" singer, and writer of Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do" explained that Kylie had complimented her on her habit of writing tunes with pen and paper.
"And I was like, [gasps] you know who I am, this is crazy," she said, adding that she saved the screenshot to her "memory folder".
They later played at the same event in Hong Kong and agreed to work together on a tune one day.
"When I felt like I had the song that I felt like I could hear her voice on, I sent it over and she was like, 'Yeah, let me add my thing to it!' and just killed it."
Tove Lo is in Australia promoting her new album, 'Sunshine Kitty' and is playing a show in Melbourne on October 9.
