Super Bowl LIV: Jennifer Lopez And Shakira To Perform Halftime Show

It doesn't get much bigger than this!

The 2020 Super Bowl has announced a double-feature for their halftime show. Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will be taking the stage to perform on February 2, which is also the NFL's 100th anniversary AND Shakira's birthday!

"Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl," JLo said, adding, "And now it’s made even more special... because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can’t wait to show what us girls can do on the world’s biggest stage."

Meanwhile, Shakira said, "I’m so honoured to be taking on one of the world’s biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world -- and to top it off, on my birthday!

"This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime."

It's been a huge few weeks for JLo, as she gets huge praise (and Oscar buzz!) for her starring role in the film 'Hustlers'. She also recently walked the Versace catwalk in Milan in a replica of the dress that turned her into a global fashion icon (and ultimately inspired the creation of Google images!).

The announcement of JLo and Shakira's show has been met with huge praise -- which is a major shift from the 2019 halftime show where artists like Cardi B, Rihanna and Jay-Z reportedly turned down the gig in support of Colin Kaepernick's protests against police brutality.
