Destiny's Child Songwriter Lashawn Daniels Has Died At 41

Grammy-award winning songwriter Lashawn Daniels has died, age 41.

Daniels passed away after sustaining injuries in a car accident, his publicist JoJo Pada told CNN.

The songwriter and producer's long list of credits included Whitney Houston's "It's Not Right But It's Ok", Michael Jackson's "You Rock My World", Lady Gaga and Beyoncé's "Telephone" and "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child.

His wife April confirmed the news on Instagram, writing that he was a victim of a "fatal car accident in South Carolina".

"A Grammy-award winning producer and songwriter, Daniels was a man of extraordinary faith and a pillar in our family," she wrote.

"We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the continuous outpouring of love and sympathy," Daniels added.

Artists including Kehlani have paid tribute to Daniels and his legacy of "perfect pop song[s]" on social media.
