MTV VMAs 2019: Miley's Heartbreaking VMAs Message To Liam
Miley Cyrus performed publically for the first time since splitting with estranged husband Liam Hemsworth at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards.
In a last-minute decision that delighted fans, Miley Cyrus gave a heartfelt performance her latest single "Slide Away" for the first time at the 2019 MTV VMAs, which took place at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In what marked the singer's first appearance since she announced her split from Liam Hemsworth, the 26-year-old gave an emotionally-charged performance of her song, which is reportedly based on her marriage breakdown with the Aussie actor.
“Once upon it was paradise, once upon a time I was paralysed, I think I’m gonna miss these harbour lights, But it’s time to let it go," she sang to the cheering crowd, which included parents Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus.
“Once upon a time it was made for us, woke up one day and it turned to dust,” Cyrus continued. “Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost, So it’s time to let it go.”
Following her epic performance, viewers were blown away by the star's powerful vocals, with one social media dubbing her voice as "one of the best in music".
Miley was just one of many star-studded performances billed for the evening, which included Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Rosalía, Big Sean featuring A$AP Ferg, H.E.R., Normani and Ozuna.
