Jessica Mauboy Reveals Emotional Story Behind Music Video For 'Little Things'

If you're a fan of Aussie icon Jessica Mauboy, you won't want to miss this week's episode of The Loop.

Speaking to host Scott Tweedie, Jess got candid about her upcoming album 'Hilda', as well as opening up about the emotional family story behind her powerful new clip for "Little Things".

A song that aims to convey the idea that one should live in the moment and not let important moments slip by, Jess revealed that her biggest inspiration came in the form of her mum, Therese Mauboy, who sadly lost her own mother when she was about 10 years old.

Having lost her mum so young, Jess spoke of watching Therese's struggle as she navigated motherhood while raising Jess and her three older sisters, Sandra, Jenny and Catherine, and younger sister Sophia.

"Watching my mother at a young age sit there at the table and try to figure out motherhood -- having portrayed that story in the music video meant so much to me," she told Tweedie while holding back tears.

She continued, "At that particular moment, I really understood and really felt her struggle -- I mean, bringing five women into the world and not having a mother to tell her how to mother was an idea I had never known because I had my mother to teach me those things".

"That's what this song really holds," she concluded.
