Geri Apologised For Leaving The Spice Girls 21 Years Ago And We're Emotional

Geri Horner has finally apologised for shattering our hearts when she famously quit the group back in 1998.

On May 31, 1998, fans of the Spice Girls all around the world were shocked by the devastating bombshell that Geri Horner (then Halliwell) would officially be leaving the Spice Girls at the height of their fame.

Over the weekend, however, during their final performance of their UK Spiceworld at London's Wembley stadium, Ginger Spice apologised for leaving the iconic group saying that she should have said sorry "a long time ago."

Prior to performing their final track of the evening, Geri took centre stage to tell fans what they've been waiting to hear for over two decades.

"It suddenly occurred to me this afternoon, I need to say something I should have said a long time ago: I’m sorry. I’m sorry I left. I was just being a brat. It is so good to be back with the girls that I love," she said.

Longtime fans were emotional over the apology, with one Twitter user writing, "Tonight in front of 90,000 people Geri Halliwell said sorry to everyone before Spice Girls sang Goodbye and I think that’s one of the most important things that’s ever happened to me."
