Elton John Adds Six More Shows To Australian Tour
The iconic singer will now play a massive 32 shows across Australia between November 2019 and March 2020.
Banking on the massive success of musical film 'Rocketman', Elton John has revealed that Australians will see a total of 32 shows across the country for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
Adding six more dates to his already packed schedule, the 'Tiny Dancer' singer has now added gigs in Geelong, Melbourne, Coffs Harbour, Townsville, the Sunshine Coast, and finally, Sydney, and will also be appearing at A Day On The Green.
The star's tour promoter, Michael Chugg, said the additional shows will give fans a chance to catch the singer's epic performances before he retires from touring to focus on sons Zachary and Elijah with husband David Furnish.
“I think Rocketman will have a huge impact on demand for these shows besides the fact there haven’t been any tickets available in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane for months,” Chugg said via the Daily Telegraph.
“The film reinforces for everyone how magnificent this guy is.”
Chugg added that it's not uncommon for John's elaborate shows to go over the scheduled three hours.
“Sometimes that is because he is doing these amazing 10-minute versions of favourite songs but also because there has been a standing ovation every three or four songs,” Chugg said.
Telstra Plus pre-sale tickets for the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour open on June 18, Rocket Club members pre-sale on June 20, Chugg VIP members pre-sale on June 21, and general tickets on sale from June 25.
