It all became too much for the star during her performance of 'thank u next’ when it came to the verse, “Wish I could say ‘thank you’ to Malcolm, ‘cause he was an angel,” with the 25-year-old choking up to the point she was unable to finish the song.

Seeing her tear up, fans supported the star by loudly singing the line and cheering.

According to fans on social media, Grande also struggled to perform “Raindrops (An Angel Cried),” a song which is believed to be about Miller’s death.

Miller, real name Malcolm McCormick, was so beloved in his hometown of Pittsburgh that he was given a key to the city in 2013.

Miller and Grande first got together in 2016 before breaking up in May 2018, with Miller passing away in September of that year.
