All Of The Records Taylor Swift Has Broken With 'ME!' (So Far)
You have to admit that Taylor Swift knows how to get fans excited.
As the countdown on her official live stream hit zero last Thursday the 26th, eager fans of Taylor Swift were finally treated to a brand new single "Me!" accompanied by a candy-coloured music video that featured Panic! At The Disco's Brendan Urie.
Unsurprisingly, the single has since smashed a bunch of records despite only being out for four days, and she's already taken Ariana Grande's crown for most-watched video in 24 hours by a solo or female artist (Ari previously held the record for "Thank U, Next".
With the news that a whole new album is imminent, we're sure these are just the first of many more records to come for the 29-year-old, but for now, check out all the records T-Swizzle has already managed to smash.
Taylor's video for "ME!" managed to hit an insane 65.2 million views within the first 24 hours of its release on April 26, which officially makes her the solo and female artist with the biggest 24-hour debut on YouTube to-date.
It also received more 'likes' during its first day than any of her earlier music video releases, and is followed by 43.2 million views for the first single released from her album reputation, "Look What You Made Me Do."
Tay acknowledged the accomplishment over Twitter, writing to fans: "GUYS!! YOU DID THIS!!!! CANNOT STOP SMILING. And I’m not trying to be loud but 65.2 million views... ?? and 6+5+2=..." (Taylor's lucky number is 13).
While she did manage to edge out Ariana Grande from her top spot at 55 million views for "Thank U, Next," K-pop group BTS apparently still takes the crown for having the biggest YouTube 24-hour view record overall thanks to their single "Boy With Luv" featuring Halsey, which reached a whopping 74 million views in 24 hours.
"ME!" has also officially topped the charts as Vevo's highest number of views within 24 hours, hitting more than 65 million views.
Again, she overtook Ariana's previous record of 59 million views in the first 24 hours for the star-studded "Thank U, Next" video.
Amazon revealed over Twitter on Sunday that "ME!" managed to break not one but TWO records -- one for most streams in its first day and the second being for the most on-demand voice requests with Alexa than any other single debut on Amazon Music. Impressive!
