Metallica Announce Massive Aussie Tour Dates

Metallica have confirmed they're coming down under for the first time in six years.

The band, who haven't played in Australia since 2013, will be joined on the down under portion of their tour with Slipknot and will be touring throughout October.

With six shows in Australia kicking off in Perth and heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane before ending in Auckland, the stop is just another chapter in their massive world tour.

It also marks the first time Metallica will be headlining stadium shows in Australia and New Zealand, so dust off your best merch.

Metallica's WorldWired Tour -- off the back of their 2016 release Hardwired... To Self-Destruct -- has played more than 150 shows across the world over the last three years.

October 17: Perth, Optus Stadium

October 20: Adelaide, Adelaide Oval

October 22: Melbourne, Marvel Stadium

October 26: Sydney, ANZ Stadium

October 29: Brisbane, QSAC

October 31: Auckland, Mt. Smart Stadium.
