Aaron Carter Says He's The OG Justin Bieber But Gets No Respect

The singer said he paved the way for singers like Biebs.

When a fan posted on Twitter wondering why "Aaron Carter never reached the level of success [Justin Bieber] did," it seemed to hit a nerve for the singer, who hit back in a Twitter rant over the comparison.

"Listen man. I can’t sit here & just not say anything to that, I’ve been in this industry before he was born. I’ve had harder times and always bounce back," he wrote, adding, "No I’m not Justin Bieber I’m Aaron Carter. I’m also in construction. I paved the way. These kids have NEVER paid me homage."

He continued, "Why don’t you try losing everything and having the professional world turn their backs on you including your fans, gain their respect back and then never give up on yourself and get back at me. Maybe I’ll have some advice for you."

It's not the first time the 30-year-old has come for JB -- in an appearance on the Allegedly podcast with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss last year, Carter spoke out against Bieber and his manager Scooter Braun, saying, “I hope you’re enjoying my pavement.”

Also, back in 2015 interview with Billboard, Bieber’s attorney Aaron Rosenberg was asked how Biebs did “not turn into Aaron Carter?”

“I have a speech that I give to clients called the five F’s to staying grounded in this business: family, faith, friends, fans and the formula. I think for Justin, connecting with all five F’s, especially with faith, helped him through some confusing times,” Rosenberg replied.

Following the comments, Carter appeared on Oprah: Where Are They Now? calling it “upsetting.”

“I found such offence in that. I thought that was outlandish,” Carter said, “Maybe there is some sort of threat, here?”

In the podcast, Carter said of Rosenberg’s response, “They must be scared… I would be threatened too. If I was Scooter Braun, I would be threatened too.”
