Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio Appeared In 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' Before Anyone Even Noticed

The following will blow your mind, and also contains big spoilers for 'Spider-Man: Far From Home'.

Before we begin, we just wanna warn you again that the following will spoil major plot points for 'Spider-Man: Far From Home', so don't blame us if you keep reading and something gets spoiled.

Blame Tom Holland, he's used to accidentally spoiling everything anyway.

So, by now if you've seen 'Far From Home' you'll know that Jake Gyllenhaal's Mysterio is not exactly what he seems.

The master of illusion and con-artistry fools Spidey into thinking he's a wormhole jumping, elemental battling hero when he's actually just a tech bro with anger issues.

And Gyllenhaal recently posted a cheeky pic on Instagram that proves Quentin Beck was far more nefarious than first thought.

Posing in a party shirt, Gyllenhaal captioned the pic "This isn't just a sexy dad outfit. It's my favourite look from Spider-Man: FFH", then urging his followers to look closer.

And if you DO look closer, you'll notice a familiar party shirt popping up early on in the film.

Basically, what this infers is that Beck was following Peter and his classmates long before he first crash landed on their European vacation.

It also makes things even more interesting, considering the huge post-credits scene where Beck's gang released doctored footage to make it look like Spider-Man killed Mysterio in cold blood -- revealing Peter Parker's true identity to the world.

Beck would have known who Peter was long before they bonded over the woes of work/life balance when you're a superhero.

It isn't the most life-changing revelation, sure, but it is a pretty nifty Easter egg that just makes Mysterio an even bigger villain -- and makes us want to watch 'Far From Home' another time. Well played.
