First 'Glimpse' Of Beyonce As Nala In The New 'Lion King' Trailer
We promise we're not lion!!
With the 'Lion King' remake set to hit cinemas in just over a month, fans have finally had their first glimpse at Beyoncé voicing Nala in the latest trailer released by Disney.
In the teaser, you hear Queen B encouraging Simba (voiced by Donald Glover), to fight for his rightful place within the pride.
"Simba, you have to take your place, as king," she says. "We need you," she tells Simba as images from the film flash across the screen. "Come home."
While the trailer is only a snippet of what's to come in the live-action remake, it was enough to have the Beyhive buzzing with excitement over the fresh take on the 1994 classic.
"Beyoncé sounds like a perfect voice role for Nala omggg," one Twitter user wrote, while another added, "idk how imma calmly sit through Lion King hearing Beyoncé’s voice as Nala."
The short clip is then interrupted by Timon (Billy Eichner) and Pumbaa (Seth Rogen) announcing their arrival.
"Calm down, we're here," the duo declares. "The backup has arrived."
The all-star cast will also include John Oliver as bird Zazu, Keegan Michael Key as Kamari the hyena and Alfre Woodard as Sarabi, wife to Mufasa and Simba's mum. James Earl Jones is set to reprise his role from the original film as the king of the jungle and Simba's father, Mufasa.
'Lion King' hits theatres on July 17, shortly after the 25th anniversary of the release of the original film.
