'Booksmart': The Movie Celebs Can't Stop Raving About

The critically acclaimed coming-of-age comedy is winning over critics and celebs, despite a shaky start at the box office.

Olivia Wilde's directorial debut stars Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever as two high school seniors who have always lived their lives by the book. Before they graduate, they make a pact to put the textbooks aside and kick up their heels for one night of serious debauchery.

Following its premiere at South by Southwest in March, the film has had a solid buzz around it -- with many celebs getting in on the action raving about 'Booksmart' on social media.

Taylor Swift posted to her Instagram story writing, "Guys go see Booksmart cause in this house we support @oliviawilde".

The film opened to $8.7 million on its first weekend in the United States, which hasn't been as massive as other raunchy teen comedies and -- for comparison -- pales next to Disney's whopper 'Aladdin' which opened to $112 million in the US.

Obviously, there was no chance 'Booksmart' would outsell a money-grabbing monolith like Disney's remake machine, but it looks like celebs are trying to win crowds to head to the cinema through word-of-mouth.

Ryan Reynolds, Natalie Portman, Mindy Kaling, Lili Reinhart and Busy Philipps are just some of the names throwing their support behind the comedy.

Unfortunately for Aussies keen to see the flick, we'll have to wait until July 11 which, truthfully, feels like 80 years away but at least you can check out the trailer above.
