Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo wrote an open letter to "the best fans in the world", urging them to keep their lips zipped after seeing the blockbuster, warning that "Thanos still demands your silence".

"When you see Endgame in the coming weeks, please don't spoil it for others, the same way you wouldn't want it spoiled for you," they wrote, alongside the hashtag, #DontSpoilTheEndgame.

The majority of fans have taken the pledge to protect the Marvel community who haven't made it to the movies just yet -- although some have been posting 'no context spoilers' to satisfy their own need to talk about the film online in some capacity.

So if you haven't seen the film yet, you might want to consider staying offline, and possibly wearing noise-cancelling headphones when you're lining up at the cinema.
