Halle Berry Reveals She Suffered A Serious Injury Training For 'John Wick 3'
The actress has spoken out about being injured on the set of 'John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum'.
Joining John Wick director Chad Stahelski, Berry spoke to Extra, revealing that she undertook the majority of her own stunts, though it didn't quite go to plan.
"I broke three ribs when I was rehearsing for John Wick," she told Extra. "It's like a badge of honour for me, we don't know how it happened… I worked for a little while with broken ribs until I could no longer do it."
She added that while she was worried that Stahelski would replace her for the role due to recovery time, the Catwoman star was relieved when the director waited until she was fit to get back on set.
“He waited for me to heal, when I came back I felt better,” she said.
Berry added that training for the role involved “hours and hours of stunt training", saying, "it’s gun training, it’s dog training, then it’s just strength training on top of that with my trainer, and it’s watching my diet."
She went on to say that seeing co-star Keanu Reeves' dedication to his performance “was pretty amazing."
"It was a little terrifying at first because he’s so damn good, and I wanted to be on the same level as him. I didn’t want to disappoint him,” she said.
The third instalment of John Wick will see Reeves, who plays the titular character, have to fight and kill his way out of New York City as he's hunted down.
Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and John Leguizamo are also set to return, with Anjelica Huston also joining the cast as The Director.
