Busy Philipps Got The White Chicks From 'White Chicks' To Reunite
Picture this: The year was 2004, and you were probably dressed in head-to-toe Supré, complete with a pink rah-rah skirt, at least two singlets layered on top of one another, with a "summer scarf" completing the look.
You'd probably wandered down to the video store listening to Kelis' "Milkshake" and Britney Spears' "Toxic" on the burnt CD spinning in your Discman, and you were all set to pick up some Red Bull, a pizza and some movies to watch with your BFFs.
Now, let's be real, Mean Girls was probably the first one you picked up, but you know what pairs real well with Cady and co? White Chicks.
Yes, that's right. All of that was 15 years ago, and yes, we're all old AF now. Sad!
Unfortunately, we haven't developed the ability to turn back time in the past decade and a half, so we can't head back to that simpler time, but what we can enjoy is the reunion of White Chicks chicks Busy Philipps, Jaime King, Brittany Daniel and Jessica Cauffiel on Busy's show, Busy Tonight.
The foursome -- minus Jennifer Carpenter, who was working in NYC and unable to make the reunion -- sat down to reminisce about the filming of the cult classic, which Busy said is still the thing she gets recognised for "once or twice a week".
Swapping memories from filming, they all agreed that the dance-off was the most memorable scene for them to film, and revealed that they rehearsed the dance sequence for weeks on end to Beyoncé's "Crazy In Love" before they even knew whether they'd be able to secure the rights for the hit.
"Am I just imagining this, or was this true?" said Jaime. "Did we rehearse it to ["Crazy In Love"] over and over again, and they were just hoping that we would get the song?"
"Yeah," confirmed Busy.
"'Coz I remember like, a celebration, like 'YES! We got the song!' But we rehearsed for like, weeks, without knowing if we were actually going to get it," Jaime added.
"It's true!" Busy said as the other women nodded in agreement.
In fact, as it turns out, they rehearsed so much that they actually got too good at the choreography, and the number had to be switched up at the last minute!
Aside from that revelation, the gals also shared some never-before-seen snaps from the set and revealed that fans of the flick will still come up to them and sing "A Thousand Miles" by Vanessa Carlton at them.
Of course, the real highlight of the reunion was when the ladies took to the stage to actually recreate the iconic dance-off -- although Jaime had to sit out, as she injured her foot during the rehearsal.
