They're Back! Keanu Reeves And Alex Winter Confirm 'Bill & Ted 3'
Bringing you a glimmer of sunshine on this grizzly day comes the bodacious news that the cult favourite film series Bill & Ted will be making a long-awaited return to the big screen for the third installment.
The pair dropped the bombshell in a video released over social media on Thursday, introducing themselves as "Wyld Stallyns" -- the name of their band from Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.
"We want to say thank you to you the fans," Reeves said in a message filmed at the Hollywood Bowl, "Because it looks like we might make a movie -- Bill & Ted 3," they continued.
"It's all because of you guys, so we owe you huge gratitude," Winter said, adding, "Oh, and be excellent!"
Titled Bill & Ted Face the Music, the movie is again set to star the titular characters played by Keanu Reeves (Theodore “Ted” Logan) and Alex Winter (William “Bill” S. Preston Esq) and will be set several decades after the events of Bogus Journey.
According to a press release for the flick, which is set to be released in 2020, the third installment will see Bill and Ted "yet to fulfill their rock’n’roll destiny".
It continued, "the now middle-aged best friends set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe."
"Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends," it concluded.
Meanwhile, fans of the iconic flick are -- of course -- going wild over the news.
