First Look At Disney's Live-Action Remake Of 'The Lion King' Released
Things are looking... familiar.
Disney has released their first teaser for the upcoming live-action remake of The Lion King.
The first look features an almost perfect replica of the opening scene of Rafiki presenting baby Simba to the animals of Pride Rock.
Using a mix of CGI and live-action -- also known as "virtual production" -- the film has a similar look to director Jon Favreau's other Disney remake, The Jungle Book.
The film has a massively stacked cast which includes -- and bare with us if we leave anyone out, but it's a long list -- Donald Glover, Beyoncé Knowles, James Earl Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Alfre Woodard, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, John Oliver and Florence Kasumba.
While the teaser trailer doesn't feature a ton of dialogue, it does give us our first glimpses of James Earl Jones reprising his legendary role of Mufasa telling his young son: "Everything the light touches is our kingdom".
Truly if you didn't get chills at that... you better be prepared for "Circle of Life" to kick in.
The Lion King is scheduled to hit cinemas in July 2019. We're so ready.
