Nicole Kidman Wants To Do One Good Thing In The Destroyer Trailer

She's one of Hollywood's biggest stars but Nicole Kidman is barely recognisable in the trailer for her upcoming film Destroyer.

The film, directed by Karyn Kusama, stars Kidman as LAPD detective Erin Bell who was in deep cover with a gang when she was younger. Years later, when the leader of the gang resurfaces, Bell has to grapple with her dark past and the tragedies she faced while working that case.

Kidman stars alongside Sebastian Stan, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford and Toby Kebbell as she performs the character across two timelines -- the younger Bell and the hardened, rougher version of the present.

The film premiered at the Telluride Film Festival in August and also played at the Toronto International Film Festival, where another of her films, Boy Erased also played.

In that, Kidman worked with Joel Edgerton who wrote, directed and co-stars in the film along with Russell Crowe. Crowe and Kidman star as a Baptist preacher and his wife in a small American town who grapple with their son's homosexuality. The film follows the family as they pressure their 19-year-old, played by Lucas Hedges, into gay conversion therapy.
