Leo and Brad Pitt Serve Mod Squad Realness In Tarantino's New Flick
Once upon a time in squad goals, tbh.
Oscar winner and former internet meme Leonardo DiCaprio has shared the very first sneak peek at his upcoming Quentin Tarantino film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, on Instagram.
The film will co-star Brad Pitt, also an Oscar winner but for producing 12 Years a Slave rather than his incredible, subtle work as a food disposal unit in Ocean's Eleven.
The pair are dressed in their nicest 1969 duds because the film is loosely set around the Manson family murders. Leo stars as Rick Dalton, a western TV actor who lives next door to Sharon Tate, whose murder by the Manson family remains one of the biggest murder cases in history.
Brad, meanwhile, will play Cliff Booth, a stunt double and close friend to Leo's character.
While both Leo and Brad have worked with Tarantino before -- on Django Unchained and Inglourious Basterds respectively -- they've never starred in a film together. Until now.
Fun fact, they were actually slated to appear onscreen together in The Departed all the way back in 2006, but Brad had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts with the filming of Babel. His production company with then-wife Jennifer Aniston stayed on as a producer of the film, and Brad's role ended up going to Matt Damon.
On the topic of casting, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood will also reunite Leo with his Wolf of Wall Street co-star, Aussie icon Margot Robbie, and will also co-star Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, Burt Reynolds, and Al Pacino. A CAST, sweeties.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is slated for a US theatrical release on August 9, 2019, which just happens to be the 50th anniversary of the LaBianca murders and one day after Tate was killed.
Tarantino remains a stunt queen, we see.
