Katy Perry And Orlando Bloom Postpone Wedding Over Coronavirus Fears
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom will have to wait a little longer to say "I do" after the singer revealed they've been forced to postpone their Japan wedding following the COVID-19 outbreak.
The 35-year-old, who just yesterday confirmed the exciting news that she was expecting her first baby with her husband-to-be, was reportedly planning to hold a summer wedding in Japan, but has held off plans to walk down the aisle due to coronavirus fears and travel restrictions.
“It was all set for Japan with 150 guests. Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE.
“They were both so elated that all the wedding details were finally coming together, but they are hitting pause because of coronavirus.”
It comes after the "Swish Swish" songstress dropped a major hint that pointed to her being pregnant with the release of the music video for “Never Worn White” where she references her upcoming wedding and is seen cradling a baby bump.
After fans went into meltdown over the glaring clue, Katy confirmed the news on Twitter saying she was happy she "didn't have to suck it in anymore".
Appearing later on Instagram Live, where she gave fans the first look at her growing baby bump, she said that the news was “probably the longest secret” she “ever had to keep.”
“There’s a lot that will be happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth -- literally -- but also figuratively to something you guys have been waiting for,” she said, referring to her upcoming album.
Orlando and Katy have both previously been married -- Orlando to Miranda Kerr, whom he shares 9-year-old son Flynn with, while Katy was briefly married to comedian Russell Brand.
“Orlando and I are united with our approach,” Perry recently told Stellar Magazine about planning her the wedding.
“It’s not about the party. It’s about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Those are just the facts when you’re with someone who challenges you to be your best self.”
