Bette Midler Slams Scott Morrison's Leadership Through Bushfire Crisis

American superstar Bette Midler has blasted Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Twitter, telling him to 'lead' Australia through the bushfire crisis.

The fires have made global headlines in the last week as blazes continue to claim lives and wreak havoc across NSW and Victoria.

The devastation has captured the attention of celebs including Midler, who addressed Australians and the PM on Twitter.

"Pity poor #Australians, their country is ablaze, and their rotten @ScottMorrisonMP saying, "This is not the time to talk about climate change. We have to grow our economy," she claimed.

"What an idiot," she continued ... "What good is an economy in an uninhabitable country?

"Lead, you f***wit!"

Her criticisms of Morrison's leadership echoed the sentiments of locals in the NSW town of Cobargo, who unleashed on the PM during his visit there on Thursday.

'It's Tough': Nick Kyrgios Breaks Down In Tears While Speaking About Bushfires

Nick Kyrgios has teared up after winning his first match at the ATP Cup in Brisbane as he spoke about the Australian bushfire crisis.

"Every single time this area gets a flood or a fire we get nothing," a resident told Morrison.

"If we lived in Sydney or on the North Coast we would be flooded with donations and emergency relief,” the residents claimed.

Meanwhile, in Melbourne British rocker Yungblud led a crowd of thousands in a passionate chant.

The audience declared "F**k ScoMo" during the performer's concert at The Forum.

On Friday, Morrison was asked what he thought about the outrage.

"I don't take it personally. I just see it as a sense of frustration and hurt and loss and anger that is out there about what is the ferocity of these natural disasters," he said.

"And I understand that, and we will seek to provide that comfort and support in whatever way we can."
