Michelle Williams 'Is Engaged And Expecting', Friends Say
Michelle Williams is reportedly pregnant and engaged to her Tony Award-winning partner, Thomas Kail.
A source has told 'People' that not only is the four-time Oscar nominee engaged, but she is also expecting her second child.
Rumours began circulating after the famous couple were photographed together in London shopping for baby clothes. The pair's representatives are yet to comment on the news.
Williams (39) and Kail (42) are believed to have met while filming 'Fosse/Verdon', where Williams starred as Broadway great Gwen Verdon. The actress won an Emmy Award for her performance.
Kail is highly regarded in the theatre world, best known for directing the Broadway leg of the blockbuster musical 'Hamilton'.
He is close friends with Lin-Manuel Miranda, also directing the playwright's other hit musical 'In The Heights'.
In April this year, it was announced Williams had split from her ex-husband Phil Elverum less than a year after they married in secret.
Williams' pregnancy marks hers and Kail's first child together. The actress is also mother to 14-year-old Matilda Ledger, whom she shared with the late actor Heath Ledger.
Matilda Ledger was two years old when her father passed away from an accidental overdose on prescription drugs.
Williams, a famously private person, has opened up a small number of times about the death of Ledger and the impact it has had on herself and her family.
She spoke candidly to 'Vanity Fair' in 2008 about her lost love and how it has changed how she parents her teenage daughter. “I never gave up on love,” she told the publication.
I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.’
The actress appeared on American morning television earlier this year to reflect on single parenthood. During an interview with 'Live With Kelly And Ryan', Williams said raising a teenager would always be difficult, but "so far, so good."
There's no word yet as to how far along Williams and Kail are in their pregnancy, or when we can expect the wedding.
