'Roseanne' Star Sara Gilbert Splits With Musician Wife Linda Perry

It's been revealed the celebrity couple have gone their separate ways after five years of marriage.

Gilbert, 44, listed their separation date as August 13 and made no request for mutual spousal support, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.

The actress and television host divulged she was dating singer, songwriter and producer Perry, 54, on CBS show The Talk in November 2011.

After same-sex marriage was legalised in California, the Hollywood couple celebrated their engagement in April 2013 and were married in March 2014.

Gilbert, best known for her role as Darlene Connor on Roseanne, gave birth to the couple's son Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry, in February 2015.

She has two older children -- Levi Hank, 15, and Sawyer Jane, 12 -- from a previous relationship with television producer Ali Adler.

After almost a decade as creator and co-host of CBS's The Talk, Gilbert announced she was leaving in April this year to spend more time with her family.

"I loved [the show] and felt totally empowered, but also, if I’m being honest about it, my life was slightly out of balance," Gilbert said at the time.

"I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I’d like, or time for myself."

"A lot of people have been hurt by this. I will say, I'm proud of the show we made."

Perry -- who has crafted hits for acts like Christina Aguilera, Pink and Alicia Keys -- told People in 2015 that becoming mothers made the couple closer.

"We have to build together and collaborate on this human that we are going to create and help him with his vision of who he wants to be," Perry said.

The separated couple are yet to publicly comment on their split.
