Margot Robbie Says She Was So Drunk At The Logies She Passed Out In A Toilet
Margot Robbie was on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' and revealed exactly what it was like to attend the Logies as a young actor.
There to promote her new movie 'Bombshell', Robbie spoke about the very first award show she went to as an actor: the Logies.
Calling them the "funnest award show ever", Robbie told U.S TV host Jimmy Kimmel about what it was like being at Australian TV's night of nights when she was 18.
"It's like the Wild West," she said, adding: "they're just a big piss-up. Everyone just gets absolutely hammered."
"People are drunk the next day going to work," Robbie claimed.
Kimmel is no stranger to award shows, having hosted the Emmys in 2016 as well as the Academy Awards in 2017 and 2018.
But the idea of seeing the stars of TV getting smashed on TV was a new concept for the late-night host.
Robbie told the host one of the most infamous morning-after stories in Aussie TV: Karl Stefanovic's 'Today' hosting effort after the Logies in 2009.
"A really famous talk show host did a show completely wasted. He did the morning show like wasted," Robbie claimed.
"And Australia loved him more after that. They loved it. He didn't even get in trouble."
Years later Stefanovic spoke about the infamous TV moment, confirming what fans suspected.
"I really was drunk, or at least I certainly looked and sounded drunk," he said, according to News Corp.
Stefanovic wasn't the only one going a bit wild at the Logies, with Robbie revealing that when she was 19 she had quite a massive night at the awards show which -- at the time -- was still held at Melbourne's Crown Casino.
"I got so drunk I passed out ... in one of the toilet stalls, like a cubicle," Robbie told Kimmel.
She claimed she walked out into the casino to find it was closed for cleaning.
"It was such a weird, surreal experience because there was no one around. For a second, in my drunken state, I was like 'Did I die? Am I ... Am I in between heaven and hell right now?'"
Thankfully some staff were able to direct a young Robbie out of the casino so she was able to get to work where she received some oxygen from the on-set nurse.
Sounds like 2020 is the perfect time for Robbie to come back for another Logies to re-live the magic.
