Elsa Pataky Says Liam Hemsworth 'Deserves Much Better' After Miley Cyrus Split
Elsa Pataky didn't hold back in a recent interview when it came to discussing her brother-in-law Liam Hemsworth's split with Miley Cyrus.
Speaking at a press conference in Madrid to promote a lingerie brand, Pataky -- who has been married to Chris Hemsworth for nearly a decade -- was asked about Liam's high-profile split with the singer last August following a ten-year on-off relationship.
"My brother-in-law, well… after a relationship that you've dedicated ten years to, he's a little bit down," Hola reported the actor saying, "but he's coping well, he’s a strong boy and he deserves the best,” she said at the event.
“I think he deserves much better,” she continued.
Following Miley and Liam's separation, the 29-year-old 'Hunger Games' star has been seen spending time with family in Byron Bay, where he has reportedly purchased a house next to Chris Elsa and their three children.
"You always find support in your family, and he's joined at the hip with his brother, who has been there to give all the strength he needed,” Pataky added.
Liam and Miley first met while filming the 2009 romantic drama 'The Last Song,' and after an on-and-off relationship over a decade, were married in December 2018 in a small ceremony surrounded by family and friends. However, the pair called it quits just seven months later.
"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and their careers," a rep told People Magazine at the time.
Following the split, Miley has begun dating Australian artist Cody Simpson following a brief fling with 'The Hills' star Kaitlynn Carter, while Liam has been linked to 22-year-old actress Maddison Brown.
