Elton John Claims Michael Jackson 'Totally Lost His Marbles'

Sir Elton John has opened up about his relationship with Michael Jackson in his new memoir.

Elton John is set to release his first memoir, titled Me, in which he details the many stories and celebrity encounters over his illustrious career -- but it's his anecdotes about the late Michael Jackson that have become of particular interest.

According to the flamboyant star, he first met Michael when he was around 14 or 15, however, he believed that once the "Thriller" singer hit adulthood, he began to sequester himself away from reality "the way Elvis Presley did".

“God knows what was going on in his head, and God knows what prescription drugs he was being pumped full of, but every time I saw him in his later years I came away thinking the poor guy had totally lost his marbles," Elton explained in his book.

"I don’t mean that in the light-hearted way. He was genuinely mentally ill, a disturbing person to be around,” he added. “It was incredibly sad.”

The singer's claims have been met with vitriol by fans of Jackson, with several taking to Twitter to discredit the allegations.

It comes after new allegations were made earlier this year by  Wade Robson and James Safechuck in the documentary 'Leaving Neverland', in which the pair claimed they were sexually abused by Michael when they were children.

At one point, Safechuck alleged that Jackosn made him run through "drills" to avoid being caught together.

“He would run drills with me where we’d be in the hotel room and he would pretend like somebody was coming in and you had to get dressed as fast as possible without making noise,” Safechuck claimed.
