'Clueless' Star Arrested For Domestic Violence
Stacey Dash, best known as Dionne in '90s hit 'Clueless, was arrested in Florida on a domestic battery charge for pushing and slapping a man across the face following a "verbal argument,'' police said.
Dash, 52, was taken to Pasco Sheriff's Office in Land O' Lakes on Sunday following an argument during which she hit and slapped him, with the man also sustaining “red scratch marks to his left upper arm from being pushed.”
While the victim’s name was redacted in a report obtained by CNN, TMZ has reported that the man involved was Dash's fourth husband, Jeffrey Marty, whom she married in 2018 after just 10 days of knowing one another.
Meanwhile, a source has since told TMZ that Dash acted in self-defence, with the outlet reporting that she "is the one who called 911, and she was arrested because she didn't have any marks on her but her husband did."
She was later released after posting bail.
While Dash is best known for her role as the stylish best friend of Alicia Silverstone's character Cher Horowitz in 1995's 'Clueless', in recent years, Dash has established herself as a Fox News contributor.
During her time as a contributor, the conservative created controversy after saying in 2016 that there "shouldn't be a Black History Month."
She also launched a short-lived run for congress last year but was met with criticism upon announcing the decision, and later pulled out of the race.
"After much prayer, introspection and discussions with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy for California's 44th Congressional District," she wrote at the time.
