Radio Star Robin Bailey Announces Death Of Husband Sean Pickwell In Heartbreaking Tribute

Triple M radio host Robin Bailey confirmed the death of her husband, Sean Pickwell, on her Facebook page this morning.

Pickwell was 56-years-old, and had been diagnosed with terminal cancer in July 2018.

"What can I say," Bailey wrote on Facebook, "my big beautiful panda has gone. He died as he lived... his way... at home with us holding him.

"In this moment there are no words or feelings that can truly express the love and gratitude I have for my husband Sean Pickwell. He came into our lives and healed us. He loved me so hard and taught me so much and now whatever life throws at us we will be stronger, wiser and more fierce because of him."

Bailey had quit her role as co-host of Triple M Brisbane's 'The Big Breakfast' in order to be able to spend more time with Pickwell. While her husband was initially given just six months to live back in 2018, Bailey said in an interview with 'The Courier Mail' that he had gotten to "a critical point in his journey".

"This last week was tough and I thought ‘Nope, that was it’," she told the publication. "I hope this is a miracle and he is here next year, but I need to spend time with my husband and not feel bad about the juggle."

Bailey's first husband, Tony Smart, died by suicide back in 2014. She began dating Pickwell in 2015 and, following his diagnosis, married him in November 2018.

"Now you know that all the amazing things I've posted here with the wedding and the honeymoon and our trips have all been motivated by making memories for us all and living our best life NOW," she wrote on Instagram.

Earlier in the month, Bailey got Pickwell's heartbeat tattooed on her forearm, so it would always be with her.

Bailey announced a private memorial for friends and family would be held in the coming weeks, but urged fans and followers to donate to Karuna Hospice Services as well as asking anyone able to donate blood.
