John Cena Showed Off His New Haircut While Speaking Fluent Mandarin

The man of many talents!

After sporting long locks for several months, John Cena has finally got the chop and has debuted new look to fans over social media -- while speaking fluent Mandarin.

In a clip posted on Weibo -- a social media site in China -- Cena revealed that he cut his hair for a secret movie project that he can't tell fans about just yet.

"Hello friends! Long time no see," Cena said in Mandarin in the clip. "Long time no see. A year ago I show a film with Jackie Chan and the director asked me if I could change my hairstyle. So right now you can see it's long and wild. Now I'm filming a new movie and the director asked me if I can change my hairstyle."

Crafty fans have noted that Cena began filming the 'Fast & Furious 9' movie last week, which is set to hit cinemas on May 22, 2020. Given the timing, it's likely this movie that he's referring to.

Following his haircut, he returned and again spoke to fans on video.

“Hello friends! Look at me now. I have a lot less hair now. So I’m all done with my hairstyle change for my new role in my new action movie. I’ll probably have another haircut in the future, just a small cut but for now, I will look more like WWE John Cena."

He added, "That look is similar to what I look like now so a lot of WWE fans will be very excited. I’m excited now. My hair is comfortable and not wild and crazy. So now you see me! See ya!”

While many fans were excited to see a return of his WWE-era 'do, others were pleasantly surprised at the fact that Cena can speak fluent Mandarin -- a notoriously difficult language to master.

Cena has previously revealed that his passion for the language began when WWE was attempting to break into the Chinese market, and the company had some of its top stars, including Cena, learn some phrases in Mandarin.

"I started wanting to learn Mandarin to get our global company to be a true global company," he told the Strait Times in 2017.

He added that he became "obsessed" with the language, even hiring a tutor to assist him with learning on his days off.

"[I'm] fascinated with the language and has become obsessed with trying to learn it ... I don't have a lot of free time, but when I do, for an hour or two of my day, a tutor comes over and we just talk," he added.
