'Alf' Star Max Wright Has Died Aged 75
Beloved actor Max Wright has passed away, his family has confirmed.
The star best known for his role as Willie Tanner on 'Alf' died at his home in California after a battle with cancer, TMZ reports.
He was first diagnosed with lymphoma in 1995 but had reportedly been in remission "for a long time".
Wright had roles on a number of iconic sitcoms of the '80s and '90s including 'Cheers', 'Murphy Brown' and 'Mad About You'.
He even starred in some early episodes of 'Friends', playing the original manager of the gang's favourite cafe, Central Perk.
Celebrities including Seth McFarlane and 'The Simpsons' creator Al Jean have paid tribute to Wright on Twitter.
Wright's wife Linda Ybarrondo died after a battle with breast cancer in 2017, CBS Los Angeles reported.
The couple had two children together, Ben and Daisy.
