Backlash After Bizarre Father's Day Tweet From Bill Cosby's Account
Bill Cosby's social media accounts uploaded several messages celebrating Father's Day in the United States.
The message appeared Monday morning, calling Cosby "America's Dad", and pontificating on the "honour" of fatherhood.
The message was posted alongside a video that was posted again a minute later with hashtags including #AmericasFavoriteDad and #FarFromFinished.
The second hashtag is in reference to Cosby's most recent concert special which aired on Comedy Central back in November -- also titled 'Far From Finished'.
The tweets have not been received well considering Cosby is currently serving a three to 10-year sentence for drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 2004.
Prior to his sentencing, Cosby was accused by 60 women of sexual assault or misconduct.
Many online have been responding with surprise that the Cosby account is still tweeting as the man is in jail, as well as others wondering the appropriateness of Cosby posing as 'America's favourite dad'.
While the Cosby account is currently being inundated with responses to the odd tweets, some noted the account often refers to the disgraced comedian in third-person, meaning it's probably not the 81-year-old tweeting himself.
