Robin Williams' Son Named His Newborn After His Late Father

Robin Williams' eldest son Zak has named his first child after the legendary actor.

Zak's partner Olivia June gave birth to a baby boy on May 22 and the couple has decided on a name that pays tribute to the child's grandfather.

The newborn has been named McLaurin Clement Williams -- with the infant's first name a nod to Robin's middle name, People reports.

The couple has reportedly been calling the nearly one-month-old baby Mickey for short.

Zak's little sister Zelda Williams excitedly shared the news on her Instagram account, proudly announcing that she's finally an aunty.

"He’s a squishably cute pterodactyl cooing tiny wonder and I love him so much already," Zelda wrote alongside a photo she'd taken of the newborn.

"Big shoutout to Mickey on being the fastest swimmer, and huge congrats to @heyoliviajune and my big bro @zakpym on creating this little joy (and poop) factory!" she added.

The good news comes nearly five years after Williams died by suicide at age 63.

Since his father's death, Zak has been a passionate advocate for mental health and has also dedicated his time to teaching financial literacy at California's San Quentin prison.

"Spending time at San Quentin, giving back, and trying to add value to people's lives is something that's been very helpful for me personally," Williams told CNN.
