'Absolutely Wrong': Jessica Biel Is Getting Slammed For Supporting An Anti-Vaxxer Bill
Jessica Biel has reportedly been revealed as a supporter of the anti-vaxxer movement.
The actor was pictured on the Instagram account of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during her visit to the California State House.
Kennedy is a vocal opponent of California state bill SB276, a piece of legislation that would limit medical exemptions for vaccinations -- meaning parents wouldn't be able to get their kids out of compulsory vaccinations without approval from a public health officer.
“Please say thank you to the courageous @jessicabiel for a busy and productive day at the California State House,” the Democratic senator, and nephew of former President John F. Kennedy wrote on Instagram.
Several senators including Republicans Brian W. Jones, Tom Lackey, Ling Ling Chang and Devon Mathis uploaded photos with Biel from the same day, thanking the actor for her support, Jezabel first reported.
Jones specifically thanked Biel for "taking the time to chat about your opposition to #SB276".
Biel has stayed quiet on social media about her alleged opposition to the anti-vaxxer bill or why she met with the senators, but a source told In Touch Weekly in 2015 that she and husband Justin Timberlake weren't planning to vaccinate their children.
The Daily Beast spoke to Kennedy about his meeting with the actor and he told the publication that Biel was “upset about this issue because of its particular cruelty”.
He was careful not to align Biel with the term "anti-vax", a description that the Daily Beast noted he feels is "pharmaceutical propaganda".
“I would say that she was for safe vaccines and for medical freedom," he said.
“My body, my choice.”
Biel has now been slammed on Twitter for her apparent support of Kennedy and opposition to compulsory vaccinations.
