People Are Only Just Realising They've Been Saying Rihanna's Name Wrong

Twitter users have been freaking out after hearing Rihanna pronounce her own name in a video for British Vogue.

The video only goes for seven seconds, but it was enough to have the Twitterverse shook over the revelation that some have been saying the "Work" singers name wrong all these years.

In a short clip taken by British Vogue during her luxury fashion range launch, RiRi greets readers with, "Hello British Vogue, it's Rihanna and I want to welcome you to Paris for the launch of Fenty Maison!"

While it was likely meant to serve as a promo for her new fashion line, people couldn't help but notice the star pronounce her own name as "Ree-ANNA" as opposed to "Ri-YAH-Nuh".

“So we’ve been pronouncing Rihanna’s name wrong this whole time,” one user wrote, while another added, “Only Americans pronounce it as Rihaaaaaaana lol.”

While some delved into a debate of American vs UK pronunciation, others were confused that there was even an alternative way to say it in the first place, with one user asking, “What’s the other way you can pronounce Rihanna though?”

It's not the first time Rihanna has dealt with confusion over how to say her name, in 2012 at the TIME 100 red carpet an interviewer asked the star how to pronounce her name to which she happily replied, “I knew this was the question,” she told him. “It is Ree-Anna.”

So there you have it!
