Joe Jonas Says Diplo 'Ruined His Wedding' To Sophie Turner
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner wed in a surprise Vegas ceremony earlier this month, which was live-streamed on American DJ Diplo's Instagram.
Following last month's Billboard Music Awards, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner headed straight to the chapel for what would have been a secret wedding -- if it wasn't for Diplo.
According to Joe, the shotgun wedding was meant to be just close friends and family, including brothers Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas. However, word of the quickie wedding soon spread through social media like wildfire, as guest Diplo decided to live-stream the entire ceremony over Instagram live.
Speaking in an interview alongside his fellow JoBros on Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp Wednesday, Joe said about his DJ friend, "Yeah, he ruined it."
“I love Diplo,” Jonas added. “But he loves his ‘gram like a 13-year-old.”
The pair tied the knot in front of an Elvis impersonator immediately following the awards show, with Joe adding, “We kind of just laughed, we loved it. I loved how he just walked into the chapel and said, ‘Just going to hit this wedding real quick.'”
Meanwhile, it seems that Sophie's not bothered by Diplo's outing of her wedding, with the 'Game of Thrones' having a laugh about the entire situation on 'The Graham Norton Show'.
“Well, we didn’t choose him to be our wedding photographer -- he just decided to live-stream it,” she said.
“Well, what happens in Vegas, goes everywhere,” Norton replied.
It looks like they'll get a second chance of keeping it low-key, however, with the pair revealing they'll still be holding a second wedding in Europe, with the first one being so their marriage would be legal in the US.
“I mean, we are getting married in France, so a lot of Coors Light is necessary,” Joe said on the Zach Sang Show in April. “Not hard, really, to get that, but we needed to make sure that was going to happen.”
Meanwhile, Turner said in an interview for the May 2019 cover of Harper’s Bazaar UK, that they plan to make the next celebration smaller and more personal.
“We’re trying to keep [the wedding] as low-key as possible so it’s more of an intimate thing,” she said, adding that her GoT co-star and BFF Maisie Williams will be as her maid of honour.
