The 2019 Met Gala was an undeniably star-studded, colourful affair where celebs dressed to the nines in their designer finest for what's arguably the biggest night on fashion's calendar.
And while we love watching the stars sashay down the red carpet, our fave part of the event comes afterwards, when the inevitable memes and hilarious commentary comes rolling in from those watching on at home.

Lady Gaga: That parachute game we all played in primary school
Talk about a blast from the past! Lady Gaga's first (out of four) red carpets outfits took us way back to primary school days when the teacher would crack out the old parachute game on sports days. Good times!
Harry Styles: Jerry Seinfeld in 'The Puffy Shirt'
... But I don't wanna be a pirate!
Billy Porter: The Golden Snitch
All hail Billy Porter, king of the Met Gala! While we know Porter was going for the whole Egyptian sun god vibe, we couldn't help but see a resemblance to a golden snitch. 100 points to Billy Porter!
Kacey Musgraves: Elle Woods in 'Legally Blonde'
Kacey Musgraves rocked a very campy hot pink trenchcoat dress with an extra AF matching pink fur coat and sunnies that gave us major Elle Woods vibes.
Lily Collins: Priscilla Presley (with a touch of Lana Del Rey)
With her sky-hair hair and bold eyeshadow, actress Lily Collins was the spitting image of Elvis Presley's bride, Priscilla, on her wedding day to the King back in 1967.
Zendaya looked every inch the Disney princess in this gorgeous get up -- which even lit up on the skirt. She also recreated this scene from 'Cinderella' on the red carpet, which was honestly iconic.
Katy Perry: Lumiere from 'Beauty and the Beast'
When it comes to the Met Gala, Katy Perry never disappoints, and this year she was serving major 'Beauty and the Beast' vibes, looking on point as a more opulent version of Lumiere from the film.
Emily Blunt: An Oscar
Is Emily Blunt trying to give the Academy a big fat hint?? Either way, she looks absolutely stunning -- and totally nailed the theme -- in this gold Michael Kors number.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner: Velma and Daphne
First of all, props to the KarJenner Klan for actually getting involved in the Met Gala theme for once! And while they look undeniably fabulous, we couldn't help but notice they could be channelling another similarly dressed pair...
Madelaine Petsch: The fairy emoji
She looked drop-dead gorgeous in her ethereal outfit, and there's no denying that 'Riverdale' star Madelaine Petsch bares more than a passing resemblance to the iPhone fairy emoji. Cute!
Kim Kardashian: A croissant
A definite improvement on previous years, Kim Kardashian looked stunning in this Thierry Mugler dress that was complete with hanging crystals to look as if she was dripping wet as she walked the red carpet -- but some believed her outfit bared a resemblance to a delicious French pastry.
Nick Jonas: Petyr Baelish
Look, I'll be honest -- I've never watched an episode of 'Game of Thrones' in my life -- but a lot of people are talking about how Nick Jonas seemed to channel Petyr Baelish, so I'll take everyone's word for it.
Hailey Bieber: Kim Craig
Who better to take fashion inspiration from than Australia's own Kimmy Craig? While we're not personally fans of the whale tail trend (sooooo early 2000s), we do appreciate Mrs. Bieber's nod to Australian culture. It's noice, it's different, it's unusual.
Kendall and Kylie Jenner: Hattie and Olive from 'Ella Enchanted'
They're already on the list, but come on now -- as if the reality stars don't remind you of Hattie and Olive from the 2004 fantasy flick??
Lili Reinhart: Kirsten Dunst's Marie Antoinette
With her rosy cheeks, coifed hair and floral accessories, it's not too hard to see where 'Riverdale' star Lili Reinhart pulled her hair and makeup inspo from. And while we could have put a picture of the OG Marie Antoinette, we reckon the actress looks way more like Kirsten Dunst's interpretation of the former Queen of France.
Ezra Miller: Me trying to do this makeup
Ummmmm okay, so Ezra Miller must have been lurking my 'gram prior to the Met for some fashion inspo, clearly... But all jokes aside, the actor absolutely ~slayed~ on the red carpet with his quirky makeup and super creepy face mask. Nailed it!
