Sigourney Weaver Surprises High School Production Of Viral 'Alien' Play
The New Jersey teenagers who put together a play based on Ridley Scott's 1986 sci-fi classic, 'Alien' just got the surprise of their lives.
The North Bergen high school drama club went viral last month after footage of the performance was posted online -- with the teens earning praise for putting together the insanely realistic alien costumes from recycled materials.
The drama club announced a special encore performance after the "explosion of interest" around the world -- but had no idea that the star of the 1980s film, Sigourney Weaver, would rock up to the show.
In a video posted to Twitter, Weaver is shown congratulating the students after watching their performance.
“I just want to say, it looked incredible," she told the shocked students. "You put so much heart and soul into that."
The kids began applauding Weaver -- shocked that she made her way to their high school play -- with one student yelling, "You're my childhood hero!".
Theatre director Perfecto Cuervo told Entertainment Weekly he spent two months adapting the film into a play.
“My inspiration was just that I’m a huge fan of the movie,” the English teacher explained.
