Adele Announces Split From Husband Simon Konecki
British singer Adele has announced that she and her husband Simon Konecki have split.
The news was confirmed on Friday by the singer's representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh in a statement to The Associated Press.
"Adele and her partner have separated," the emailed statement read.
"They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."
Adele -- full name Adele Laurie Blue Adkins -- and Konecki were married in 2016 but have been together for more than seven years.
The pair was notoriously private and rarely appeared in public together.
They share a son, Angelo, who was born in 2012.
Konecki, 45, is the CEO of a charity known as Drop4Drop while Adele is, of course, a Grammy, Academy and Golden Globe-award winning singer-songwriter.
With sales of more than 100 million records, the 30-year-old is one of the world's best-selling music artists.
Some of Adele's hits were quick to become break-up anthems.
She says she wrote her hit-album 21 over a three-month period at the start of 2010 after a relationship had ended, but didn't reveal who the relationship was with.
The "Someone Like You" star is being supported through the heartbreak by close friends, including US actress Jennifer Lawrence according to The Sun.
