Geri Has Responded To Mel B's Claims That They Hooked Up
Geri Horner -- formerly Halliwell -- has finally responded to Mel B's spicy claims that they hooked up in the '90s.
Mel B accidentally let the juicy gossip slip out during an interview with Piers Morgan last week, telling the talk show host that she and Geri had sex during their Spice Girls days.
"She is going to hate me for this," Mel B told Morgan, "because she is all posh with her country house and her husband."
"It wasn't a thing, it just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it," she explained.
But in a statement released today, Geri seemed very keen to convince fans that nothing ever happened between them and that Mel B's revelation is categorically false.
"It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days," Geri's rep wrote yesterday in a statement provided to The Daily Mail.
And yes, Mother's Day was yesterday in the UK but Mel B's tell-all became public a whole week ago.
So either Geri only just got wind of the goss on Mother's Day (of all days!) or strategically chose that day to respond.
Anyway, the statement went on to say that while Geri loves the Spice Girls -- she just hates lies.
"She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family," the statement continued.
"Moving forward, Geri can’t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories," it concluded.
The upcoming Spice Girls tour is still a good two months away -- kicking off in Manchester this June -- and we're guessing Geri has given Mel B a stern talking to about staying away from Piers Morgan until then.
