Big Sean Opened Up About Dealing With Depression And Anxiety
Big Sean has spoken candidly about his mental health struggles on Instagram.
In three separate videos posted to the social media platform, the rapper explained why he postponed, then cancelled a tour that was scheduled for 2018.
“[I] had some things to work out in my head,” he said. “I never really took the time out to nurture myself, to take care of myself," he added.
Big Sean -- who turned 31 this week -- said it took him "a lot of depression [and] having a lot of anxiety to realise something was off".
"I've been getting myself together, getting my mind right," he said.
"So I have been taking better care of myself and... not only am I bringing my best self to the music but I'm bringing my best self to the table, to my city, to my fans, to the people who are about me.”
The posts arrived the same day that Justin Bieber announced he was taking a break from music to focus on his mental health.
"I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep-rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don’t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be," Bieber wrote on Instagram.
