John Kennerley Remembered By Friends And Family At Funeral
Kerri-Anne Kennerley was surrounded by loved ones at a service in Sydney for her husband John who sadly died late last month.
According to Kerri-Anne one of John's requests was that attendees at his funeral not wear black, instead, asking friends to arrive wearing colour.
Kerri-Anne chose to honour John's request by wearing florals.
A model train fanatic, John's coffin was also adorned with some of his most treasured hand-made trains.
John was 78-years-old when he died after suffering for years following a fall in 2016 that left him partially paralysed.
John's son Simon spoke of his father's refusal to give up even in the face of his injury. "He never put off what he could do today until tomorrow," he said.
"Dad never gave up, even after his tragic accident almost three years to the day," Simon continued, "he was determined to stay fit and not deteriorate, however hard it was."
"We lived a tremendous life. I love you dearly dad. I'm proud to be your son and I miss you already. May you be at peace."
Kerri-Anne was joined by those in the industry who had known John through the 35 years the pair had been married.
