'90210' And 'Riverdale' Star Luke Perry Has Died Aged 52
Perry best known for his roles in Beverly Hills 90210 and more recently Riverdale, was rushed to hospital last Wednesday after suffering a stroke.
The 52-year-old died as a result, a representative confirmed to CBS News.
"The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time," his representative said in a statement.
Earlier, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that the actor was transported to hospital from his home.
When news broke of Perry's health status, many of his former co-stars posted messages of love and support on social media.
Perry's final film role is in the upcoming Tarantino mystery crime Once Upon a Time in Hollywood which is set during the Manson Family murders and also stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Margot Robbie. He also had an ongoing role on Riverdale playing Archie Andrews' father Fred.
Perry is survived by his two children Jack and Sophie who he shared with his ex-wife Rachel Minnie Sharp.
