Lena Dunham Calls Out 'Public Shaming' Of Jordyn Woods
Lena Dunham has defended Jordyn Woods, calling for a little compassion for the 21-year-old.
Woods -- the best friend of Kylie Jenner -- has faced intense scrutiny on social media following reports that she hooked up with Tristan Thompson, the partner of Khloe Kardashian.
Now Dunham has called for everyone to take a deep breath and step back from attacking Woods online.
"Can you imagine if who you'd made out with when you were 21 had massive public shaming consequences?" wrote Dunham.
And although no-one, in particular, asked for further details, Dunham went on to recount her own early 20s "hot shame" moment, explaining that she once hooked up with her friend's crush.
"I was inexplicably wearing a dog leash," she wrote on Twitter. "I stayed in bed for days feeling hot shame. That was enough of a consequence!" she said.
"Nobody slashed prices on my eyeliner brand or whatever," she wrote, referring the price on Kylie's 'Jordy' lip kits mysteriously dropping after news of the scandal broke.
Dunham very carefully added that she wasn't trying to drag the Kardashian family with her tweets.
"I love and respect them," she wrote in response to one critic who insisted Jordyn had committed betrayal.
"It's just A LOT of media attention on a very young girl's sexual choices and my heart aches when I see that," wrote Dunham.
Woods is scheduled to appear on family friend Jada Pinkett-Smith's Facebook chat show -- Red Table Talk -- early on Saturday morning to share her side of the story.
