Ariana Grande's New Tattoo Translates To 'Japanese BBQ Grill' And We're Screaming

Tatts gotta hurt!

She's got quite the collection of tiny tattoos, but Ariana Grande's latest ink to commemorate her latest track '7 Rings' is causing quite a stir among fans -- but probably not for the reason she hoped for.

Debuting the fresh palm tattoo featuring two dainty Asian symbols, fans were quick to comment how ~cute~ the new addition looked -- until fans pointed out that the symbols didn't actually mean '7 Rings' but rather a rough translation to describe a Japanese-style BBQ grill.

Ari later explained the mistranslation, explaining to followers that it was supposed to have a couple of other symbols added, but because of the pain and the fact that tattoos on hands tend to fade fairly quickly, she left it as is.

Grande tweeted, in a post that has since been deleted:

indeed, i left out “つの指” which should have gone in between. it hurt like fuck n still looks tight. i wouldn’t have lasted one more symbol lmao. but this spot also peels a ton and won’t last so if i miss it enough, i’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time.

When another Twitter user checked the symbols on Google translate and got 'seven rounds', Ari added, "Yea it’s also like 'circle' apparently. and also “tambourine” apparently. I’m down for all of the above."

She later tweeted:

yea it’s also like “circle” apparently. and also “tambourine” apparently. i’m down for all of the above.

Then, as one fan dared to brand the 'thank u, next' songstress "a wimp" and urged her to finish it, Ari bit back with a sassy "bitch you try. i dare u. one letter."

And look, to be fair, I too have a palm tattoo, and as a collector of many, many other tattoos, I can confirm that yes, it's more difficult to tattoo (since you need to go deeper into the skin to avoid fading) and yes, it hurts like an absolute b*tch.

Pls ignore my sauso fingers.

The explanation didn't stop Twitter users from having a field day over the news, with many claiming that they too would forever honour Japanese BBQs in the form of a tattoo.

The palm tatt is the latest in her ever-growing collection, including another recent addition to her arm of the Pokemon Eevee, plus a bee behind her ear to commemorate victims of the Manchester bombing, which occurred at her concert at Manchester Arena in 2017.

Grande now has a total of around 31 tattoos, with her very first being an outline of a heart on her second toe of her right foot that she had done in 2012 when she was 18.

Remember, friends -- when getting a tattoo in another language, ALWAYS check with a native speaker. Or just, you know, stick to English?

"it’s my favorite one now tho so pls leave me and my tambourine grill alone. thank u," Grande tweeted.
